These items were all mailed to Smegma magazine publisher Torrid Zone Igloo (a.k.a Alex Igloo a.k.a Alex Hirka). 5 with hand-written message to verso, 1 rubber-stamped message, & 1 invitation to a performance at Arleen Schloss' loft performance venue A's.

The single sheet is dated 11/27/84, begins with "Dear Alex," followed by a drawing of a fire hydrant and then "Best, St" on (Tacit...) letterhead complete with Los Angeles address.

Steven Durland's (Tacit...) was a postcard mini-newspaper series which later expanded to a 4-page folding postcard format and then a column in High Performance magazine. Durland used (Tacit...) as a way to satirically comment on topical happenings: both local, political, and cultural as well as announce performances, his move to Los Angeles, and general shit-talking. A personal and practical use of mail art.

Steven Durland (1956-2021) was an artist, publisher, editor (of High-Performance Magazine), mail art participant, and advocate for performance art as well as creativity in general.
