Very good.
Minor wear to covers. Issue 1 has minor soiling to front cover as well as a bump to back top left that unobtrusively affects that corner throughout.

Scarce complete three issue set of The Blatant Image: a Magazine of Feminist Photography, published by the lesbian commune Rootworks in Sunny Valley, Oregon. Stemming from a series of women's photography workshops called the Ovulars and edited by a group of Rootworks members, The Blatant Image appeared "perennially" for three years, hoping “to change the ways women see the world and, secondarily, the ways the world sees women.”

The first issue features the first published photographs by Carrie Mae Weems, in her art student days, including one photograph that would appear in her MFA exhibition, Family Pictures and Stories.

The Blatant Image published a wide assortment of female photographers including Honey Lee Cottrell, Tee Corinne, Ruth Mountaingrove, JEB, Barbara Hammer, Mary Beth Edelson, Carrie Mae Weems, and others.
