A flyer distributed by Asociacion Uruguaya de Artistas Correo / Uruguayan Mail Artists Association notifying the public of and requesting their assistance in a letter writing campaign demanding the return of Eduard Diaz who was arrested, presumably for political activities, by Pinochet's fascist government in Chile, 1985.
2. Asociacion Uruguaya de Artistas Correo / Uruguayan Mail Artists Association flyer invitation to send work to the international mail art project "Nicaragua: Patria O Muerte" in 1985.
3. A 1988 sheet folded into fourths with a closing statement from Asociacion Uruguaya de Artistas Correo / Uruguayan Mail Artists Association and a list of their exhibitions over their existence from 1983-1988. Uruguay's military dictatorship ended in 1985, after which their activities became legitimate and not possibility open to sanctions, imprisonment, etc.
4. ideoarte Performances of Clemente Padin poster organized by Núcleo Uruguaya de Video Arte and held at Goethe-Institut Montevideo, 1988. Screened: "Por El Arte Y Por La Paz", "Por La Vida Y Por La Paz", and "Juan Y Maria".
A Uruguayan artist, poet, and publisher, Padin edited the influential literary magazines Los Huevos del Plata and OVUM 10 which put him in contact with the international avant garde. A participant in mail art, his artistic and political endeavors landed him in jail in the late '70s and surveilled upon release til the mid '80s, deemed a threat by Uruguay's military dictatorship.
