Serge Segay along with his wife Ry (a.k.a Rea) Nikonova were dedicated nonconformist artists who spent most of their lives within the U.S.S.R. They published artist magazines in editions of a handful to escape the attention of the censors and participated in international mail art and visual poetry circles. After 1988, they lived in Germany.
