"Born from the misty surf at sunset, Jerry Thomas’ Ocean Song is a high water mark of private press soft rock. Although the album was recorded and self-released in North Carolina, Thomas couldn’t resist the call of the Pacific and moved to California right after the album was released. Trading one ocean for another couldn’t cure the hometown heartache and he moved back after two decades of songwriting in LA. The album’s standout, Love Strain, says it all “too many broken-hearted people just want to inflict pain on the ones who most need love, can you feel the strain?” Same now as it ever was."
