Marian Zazeela: Drawings is an exhibition catalogue published by Kunst im Regenbogenstadl on the occasion of the show of the same title in 2000. This hardcover book includes text in both English and German by Marian Zazeela, Uli Schägger and Henry Flint. This catalogue documents drawings by Zazeela produced between 1962 and 1991 and includes extensive information about the exhibition and artist biography. Since 1962, two years after Zazeela returned to New York City after college, she has been working with her long term collaborator, musician La Monte Young, on installations and set design in sound and light. Zazeela’s drawings have been less well known until the publication of this catalogue. Her drawings are based on calligraphic marks and ornamental forms. The works on paper presented in this catalogue challenge the boundary between fine art and decoration.
